  1. I haven't got the time to write an essay about CoSH's CrackMe 1.
  2. However just a few things about 'the crack':

  6. The protection is a simple FileCreation-Test (CreateFileA; 401374);
  7. he uses 'fake' CD-Checks using the GetDriveType-Function.

  9. If everything is OK, flag will be set and then a simple CMP as
  10. the REAL CD-Check. Could be an example of a poorly protected
  11. game like most M$ gamez ... they normally just use the
  12. GetDriveType-Check.
